Rumput Tetangga...kenapa lebih hijau ya?

Jakarta, October 28, 2005

Everybody today are busy with Lebaran preparation. Maybe no one realize anymore that today is the day of Sumpah Pemuda ^^. Well, that's kinda out of topic from my title blog. Maybe I'll wrote about Lebaran and Sumpah Pemuda later.

Anyway, about my topic today about rumput tetangga yg selalu lebih hijau ^^;...
If you ever feel about it then you are not the only one. Me too :) When I was first time worked in an EPC company I always dreaming about how cozy and gratify for those who can study in Master program abroad. I'm so jealous heard all stories of them.

There are many friends of mine continuing to Master program and some even to doctoral program. When I read mailing list, some of them share their stories and making appointment to meet in a place when holidays come. Ahhh I wanna be part of it...

I always imagine...what if I am one of student who study abroad. I am expecting many great experience will happen. Taste the warm of summer and the freeze of winter...touching the snow fall, playing in a middle of leaves when autumn come. Dude, I am dreaming again... it's still hang up on the sky :(

Until now, I'm wondering, when will I able going abroad... maybe not for study anymore, but for other things, work or vacation maybe hahahahaha... keep on dreamin' dude :P

Ah, get it over man...you are live in a real world. Everyone has his own life path.

But, what about some motivator said about changes? you can change if you want to change...(keukeuh ^^..udah ah)...

Gerobak Sampah

It's quite interesting to see my new neighbourhood system. As you see in this picture, people only allowed to put the trash away on Monday and Thursday.

The gerobak sampah used to collect all trash from houses and then will be throw to the temporary patch near the soccer field. Then the garbage truck will pick it up at 7 o'clock.

I can't stop smiling remembering it. Anyway, it is a system allright. A least we can make our environment clean and try to become a good citizen by following the rules.

KOMIK STRIP

Djakarta, October 14, 2005

Surfing the net can be so exciting. Today, I'm looking for some comic strips on line. It's very suprising what you can found in the net. Thank God I live in the time when no boundaries of nation could limit the information spreading ^^... Thank you to the founder of internet hehehehe.. it's make life more linkable to each other.

I was motivated to make my own comic strip then. In a few minutes I try to make some sketches that will be my character in the strip. After awhile, I come up with a character that describing myself. The story in the comic will be my daily life and friends surrounding me. I was inspired by Debbie Ridpath Ohi, after I read her strips, My Life in a Nutshell, which told about her daily life as a writer. It's really interesting to found out more about somebody's daily life. You can imagine how I'm so curious about her next stories. You never realized that small thing could be so funny in the comic strip.

Well, here is my 1st comic strip. It's told about my first day in my new office. I hope I could continue my strip with other stories of mine...well enjoy...^^

Presentation Skill

Djakarta, October 13, 2005

There was a Presentation Skill training from Learning & Development Department (mba Imung) in my office, today. The training was quite interesting, it's contain 15 trainees in a classroom and each person should present one presentation in 2.5 minutes. The contents could be anything, like introducing yourself, or tell about your experiences, technical presentation, or even pretend to sell something and act as a salesman...whoooaaa...^^.

The presentation was taped and then we can watch the result after that. It's really suprising what you would do in front of the class. You were not realized while your hand did'nt stop playing a pen with your finger, or you keep your hand inside your pocket, or scratch your head or else. And it happened to almost all the trainees when they present their contents. Including me ^0^;

Maybe you won't admit your nervousness when the trainer said that you should do this or don't do that without watching the taped. It's so funny when you watched yourself doing such a silly thing that not appropriate for you to do in front of the audiens.

At the end of the training, mba Imung shown us about some performance from Toastmaster in International Presentation Competition, which are very interesting. Thank mba Imung ^^...

Today I learn something worthy, about my presentation skill, my body language, voice tones, contents consistency and how to perform in front of the audiens. I hope I could follow up this training and practice a lot so I would be a good presenter in the future.

That's all for today folks :P

HUTANG

Djakarta, October 11, 2005

It happens many times to me. I don't know why I always trapped in a such situation like this. It's sucks. And it's all about the MONEY...

Sometimes I feel like I'm an idiot. When people come to me with his/her sad countenance, and then asked me to lend them an amount of money with a promise that they will pay me back as soon as possible. I didn't knew why I couldn't reject their request. I give them some loan with an expectation that the money will help them much at that time and they will pay soon.

But what happened then? After they receive the loan, they seem didn't owe me anything. If I didn't ask them, they keep silent, and maybe thinking that I will forget all the things. Am I a rich man? No...not yet ^^, I mean, when I lent them the money, it didn't mean that I have much money in my saving and I can donate it to everybody. I just have enough money for me and my family. That's all.

The worst thing is...when I ask them about the money, they give me many reason why they can't paid me soon. But when they have the money, they forgot about their owe and pretending that they never borrow any money from me... that's sucks.

It happen more than 3 times with different people - my relatives exactly...
It's make me very dissapointed when I knew that my kindess is being misunderstood...
I hope they will pay me soon, coz I need the money right now for my family necessity.

Yaa Rabb, it's very difficult to be an ikhlas man...

KOMIK

Djakarta, Oktober 10, 2005...

Today I'm really boring. There's no working activities in the office. No project yet for me this year. ^^

But, that's ok. I can surf the net a whole day long :P. Looking for some interesting blog in search engine. And then I found some awesome comic blogs. There are comic strip like http://setripkomik.blogspot.com/, (it's quite interesting, great, though ^^),http://review_indicomic.blogspot.com/ - ( good review articles of indonesian's comics) and of course many more...

Making a comic is always be one of my dream that never realized yet. I always not consistent with my motivation to make it. At the first time, my scketch is very perfectionist, but later, it getting worst because I am getting bored with it.
Ahhhh...that's me...freaky enough to be comic maker...

well, maybe someday, when I have a lot of time...and I have the spirit and motivation to make one, I will make my own comic.

"Ramadhan is come!"

Yesterday was the first day of Ramadhan in this year of 1426 Hijriyah. For me, current ramadhan is very special because it's a first time, me and my wife, fasting together in our tiny noisy lil' house ^^. FASTING is abstaining from food; (Islam) a fast (held from sunrise to sunset) that is carried out during the Islamic month of Ramadhan. (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/).

There are many interesting things here in our new neighbourhood, currently. Our house located exactly on the hook of the street. In front of it, there is a large field, usually used for soccers, volley ball or other sport activities. But it can be used for parking area also ^^. Kids are safe playing there, because far from the road. Unfortunately, in rainy season, the soil is rather wet and slippery. Near the field, there are two traditional shop, side by side. They sell some Indonesian traditional foods such as, rujak ulek, gorengan, krupuk, kolak (available in Ramadhan only), and other daily stuff. Finally, at the corner there is a car/motorcycle washer. Quite noisy when they wash the vehicles. It is maintaned by Karang Taruna (a group of boys & girls in the neighbourhood to do useful activities for neighbourhood together). It's really interesting.

Around 02.00 - 03.00 a.m. some boys with their musical instruments make some yell rhytmically to wake up the neighbourhood to prepare their Sahur. Even it's quite disturbing because of noisy, it's very efective, though. In the night, we are doing shalat Tarawih (Praying together in the night of Ramadhan) at the public mosque near the highway. I can feel the atmosphere of Ramadhan here...

The last but not least, I would like to say happy fasting in this holy Ramadhan for all moslems around the world, may Allah bless you.

Wassalamu'alaikum,

P.S : I found a very interesting and useful link for moslems about Holy Quran, please check it out: http://www.qurancomplex.org/

Tepat 1 Oktober 2005

Jakarta, 4 Oktober 2005

Memang serba sulit kalo jadi rakyat kecil. Semuanya serba terjepit.

Many of the best times in life aren't scheduled — they just happen, but you need to have time to stop and appreciate them. In these challenging times, one of the kindest things you can do for yourself and others is to take time out to enjoy your many blessings and to savour the special moments in each and every day.Submitted by Annie Jefferyes, Perth, Western Australia
